Top-coal caving difficulty degree and rational mining method were analyzedby theoretical method on the basis of the 4th coal-seam condition of Pingshuo Mining area. For improving top-coal caving degree, the parameters of full-mechanized caving mining face were obtainedrecovery ratio would be realized by lengthening mining face and adding mining height in shallow buried hardcoal-seam with hard roof.

Gas in working faces is mainly produced in the destressing and desorption process of the coal bed,The coal beds are too soft to carry out bedding drilling and draw gas effectively.Mining in coal beds with gas of high conentration and low permeability and gas suction can be operatodDuring mining activities in the working faces, gas released from roof fracture areas will not flow intoupper corners, so the technically drilling problem in soft coal beds with low permeability and high
